Syros is an island of the Cyclades. Due to its strategic location, its capital is also the capital of the South Aegean Region. Syros borders with several islands of the Cyclades complex. Andros Island lies to the north, Mykonos to the east, Kythnos to the west and Sifnos, Antiparos, Paros and Naxos to the south.

Beaches on the north side of the island are deserted and secluded as this side is mountainous and contains landscapes with rocks, bridges and caves.
