Kea (or Tzia) is a Cycladic island of the Aegean Sea. It is one of the nearby destinations either from Piraeus or Lavrion ports. Having rented a rib boat, heading to Kea as your first stop shall really amaze you.
First you go to the main port of the island, Korissia, to get supplies and then you can take a taxi or the bus to go up to Ioulida that is the island’s Chora. You can enjoy the enchanting sunsets of Tzia.
Kea is an ideal place for a trip with a rib boat because it has many small beaches and secluded coves that you cannot visit by car. Kea’s beaches of Spathi,Kaliskia, Gialiskari and Psili Ammos offer tranquility and crystal clear waters.

If you enjoy salty tastes you should try “loza”, a traditional dish that is cured pork accompanied with delicious fresh salad and “ksino” that is a soft white local cheese. Do not hesitate to try “stamnagathi” as an accompaniment of fresh fish, which is a kind of herb that grows in Kea.
